Preschool for Little Learners and Afterschool Care ("we", "us", "our") operates early education and afterschool care services in Urlingford and Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. 2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Enquiries: when you use our contact form, call or email us — your name, email address, phone number, the location or programme you're interested in, and any details you include in your message.
- Enrolment and care: if your child attends, we collect information needed to provide care and meet our legal obligations — such as your child's name and date of birth, parent/guardian contact details, emergency contacts, medical or dietary information, and attendance records.
- Website use: limited technical information (such as cookies) collected automatically when you visit the site — see section 6.
3. How we use your information and our legal basis
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiries and arrange visits or places (on the basis of your consent or to take steps at your request);
- provide childcare and afterschool services, and keep the records required to run them safely (to perform our agreement with you, and our legitimate interests);
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including childcare regulations and government funding schemes such as ECCE and the National Childcare Scheme (to comply with legal obligations).
4. Children's personal data
We take particular care with children's information. It is collected directly from parents or guardians, used only to provide and safeguard care, held securely, and shared only where necessary or where we are legally required to do so.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only where necessary with:
- service providers who help us run the website (our website is hosted on Squarespace, and pages may embed Google Maps);
- government bodies for childcare funding and regulation, such as Pobal, the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, and Tusla;
- authorities where we are legally obliged to do so, or to protect a child's welfare.
6. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to make the site work and to understand how it's used. Most browsers let you control or disable cookies in their settings. Because the site is hosted on Squarespace, some cookies are set by Squarespace to provide core functionality and analytics.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or for as long as we are required to by law and childcare regulations. Enquiry information that does not lead to enrolment is kept only for a reasonable period and then deleted.
8. Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To make a request, contact us at angelabrennan01@hotmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland) at dataprotection.ie.
